Hello, everyone, everywhere.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Pastor Bob Thibodeau here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Welcome to the Faith Based Business podcast for today.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We're so blessed that you're joining us.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:We've been talking about storytelling for the past couple of weeks, and we're going to continue that theme today because storytelling, it just helps you relate to the audience and it'll inspire them to take action if you're doing it correctly.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:As a matter of fact, that's what we're going to talk about today.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Let me go ahead and share the screen here and we will get started.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Praise the Lord.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Put this over here so I can see you.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:There we go.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right there.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now, in your storytelling, obviously you want to take some sort of action.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You want to inspire some sort of action that your audience is going to take.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It could be purchasing your training or your coaching program.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It could be inspiring some kind of community.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Outrageous.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It could simply be inspiring people that eat more healthy.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:To accomplish this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:So you need to be able to relate to your audience, and they need to be able to relate to the story you're sharing.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:When broken down like that, you can see that relatability is the key to powerful storytelling.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:By crafting narratives that resonate with your audience's experiences, emotions, and values, you'll create an authentic connection with them, and that will inspire you to inspire them to take the action that you desire.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, so the art of relatability is what it's all about.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:When your listeners see themselves in your stories, they're more likely to engage, to trust, to act.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And mastering the art of relatability transforms your message basically into a bridge that unites and inspires your listeners to take some kind of action.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Now you need to identify the challenges that your audience faces by listening to their stories and experiences.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:By addressing their struggles, you can create a deep connection that makes your message more relevant and more impactful.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Incorporate everyday situations and relatable Personas to make your stories resonate with your audience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:When your audience sees themselves in your narrative, they're more likely to stay engaged and to trust the message that you're sharing with them.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And you need to share some personal details as well, while highlighting the universal theme of the point you're trying to make.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:This will help to ensure your stories feel personal, yet applicable to a broader audience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:This balance will help foster deeper connections with diverse listeners and keep your storytelling simple and keep it direct.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Focus on the clarity and relatability.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:A straightforward narrative helps to ensure your audience stays engaged without feeling overwhelmed, but at the same time, don't make it seem so simple.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:It becomes ridiculous for them to take it seriously.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If I was giving you a presentation right now on speech writing and I went through this story we all remember from kindergarten to first grade when we're starting to learn how to read, you know, C Jane, run.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:See Dick run, run, run, run.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If that was my central theme, you wouldn't even be paying too much attention to it.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:You wouldn't take me seriously.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:I can't believe I came here to hear this guy talk about this.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Although the example is good.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Keep it simple.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Right.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:For anyone beyond about the third or fourth grade reading level, it would seem, I don't know, kind of obnoxious.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If I was to attend an all day seminar and this is what they're teaching, I'd think I was just wasting my time.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Am I right?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But if I was giving this presentation to elementary school students in an assembly about storytelling, this would be a great example.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay, so you need to speak to your audience.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Okay?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If you are a physicist and you are giving a presentation to PhD students, you can go into some details.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But if you're a physicist speaking to a high school class, you need to keep it pretty simple for them.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:That's the point I'm trying to make here.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:And you need to encourage your audience to see themselves in your story by posing basically thought provoking questions or scenarios as you go.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:This will prompt personal introspection and it creates a stronger emotional bond.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Questions like would you rather do this?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Or this?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:If you could choose which one, would you?
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Things like that.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Relatable storytelling begins with understanding your audience's pain points and then addressing them through familiar scenarios and characters that they can resonate with.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:By balancing personal details with the universal themes, your message feels authentic and inclusive, keeping narratives simple and inviting reflection.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Encourage that emotional connection and that'll ensure your stories resonate deeply and will inspire meaningful engagement and trust as well.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Next time we're going to discuss storytelling as a tool for building brand loyalty in your faith basis, your faith based business.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:Amen.
Pastor Bob Thibodeau:But relatable storytelling is just the beginning of growing your faith based business.
