Using Wealth to Serve God and Others
Using Wealth to Serve God and Others
Job's prosperity was not a means of self-indulgence but a platform for benevolence. Despite his wealth, Job remained deeply compassionate and generous, using his abundance to uplift the less fortunate. Job 29:12-13 (NIV) recounts his acts of compassion: "I rescued the poor who cried for help, and the fatherless who had none to assist them. The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing."
This aligns with 1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV), where Paul instructs the wealthy to be generous and willing to share: "Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share."
